Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon

About the Role

Tower Veterinary Centre is seeking a Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon to join a friendly, collaborative team on a fixed-term maternity cover contract. This is a full-time role working 40 hours across a flexible 4.5-day week with shifts between 8:30am and 7:30pm, plus 1 in 4 Saturday mornings (9am-1pm). The practice is well-established with an experienced clinical team, modern diagnostic facilities, and a loyal client base across Perth.

You'll enjoy a balanced mix of consulting and surgery with access to digital radiography with AI support, ultrasound, and dental radiography. The caseload spans routine preventative healthcare through to complex medical and surgical cases, working alongside a team of 5 full-time and 3 part-time vets who prioritise case discussion and shared learning.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality medical and surgical care across a varied small animal caseload
• Manage a balanced mix of consultations, diagnostics, medical workups, and surgical procedures
• Build strong client relationships through excellent communication and continuity of care
• Work collaboratively with veterinary surgeons, nurses, and support colleagues
• Contribute to clinical discussions, case reviews, and team learning
• Support high standards of patient care and clinical excellence throughout the practice

Requirements

• Veterinary degree and RCVS registration (or eligibility to register)
• Confidence in consultations and routine surgical procedures appropriate to your experience level
• Strong communication skills and ability to build effective relationships with clients and colleagues
• Collaborative approach to teamwork and case management
• Enthusiasm for learning and developing clinical skills
• Passion for delivering exceptional patient and client care
