1:5 out-of-hours rota
This is a varied and rewarding position within an established equine-only practice. You'll provide routine, advanced, and emergency services alongside senior and associate veterinary surgeons, seeing a broad range of leisure horses, sport horses, thoroughbreds, and the occasional donkey. With a manageable 1:5 out-of-hours rota, you'll enjoy a good work-life balance while maintaining clinical engagement.
The practice offers the freedom to work up cases internally, refer within the clinic, or pass on to an external hospital as you see fit. Clinical cases are varied and allocated according to your interests wherever possible. The beautiful rural location near Royston provides an excellent base for equine practice, and the team culture is genuinely supportive and sociable.
Tyrrells Equine Clinic is an independent, equine-only practice established for over 20 years. The team comprises 4.5 FTE vets, 2 RVNs, and 4 support staff delivering a complete range of at-the-yard and clinic-based services. The purpose-built clinic features three stables, a full surgical suite, treatment room with stocks, lameness assessment areas, and modern diagnostic equipment including an objective gait analysis system.
