About the Role

Veterinary Vision is expanding its ophthalmology services at the newly opened Bamber Bridge hospital, a purpose-built facility designed with sustainability at its core. This is your opportunity to join a collaborative team of 16 vets across four specialist referral centres (Penrith, Sunderland, Glasgow, and Bamber Bridge), working specifically alongside three other ophthalmology certificate holders at the Bamber Bridge site. You’ll lead cases and contribute to the clinical excellence for which Veterinary Vision is known across the UK.

The role is offered on a permanent basis, full-time or part-time.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide specialist ophthalmology care as part of the Bamber Bridge team of four certificate holders
• Lead and contribute to complex cases including retinal re-attachment surgery—one of only a few such programmes in the UK
• Work collaboratively with a dedicated ophthalmic nursing team to deliver high-standard patient care
• Engage with the comprehensive in-house training programme tailored to your experience level and career goals
• Contribute to the wider network of 16 ophthalmologists across four sites, sharing expertise and supporting peer learning

Requirements

• RCVS registration
• Genuine passion for ophthalmology
• Applications welcome from those currently working towards an ophthalmology certificate, existing certificate holders, advanced practitioners, and diplomats

Veterinary Vision is a leading referral-only ophthalmology practice operating four purpose-built centres across the UK. The Bamber Bridge hospital is a newly constructed state-of-the-art facility located near Manchester, designed with sustainability and clinical excellence in mind. The practice is part of Linnaeus, a leading UK veterinary group owned by Mars Veterinary Health, and operates one of the few retinal re-attachment surgery programmes available in the country.

The team of 16 vets is supported by a dedicated ophthalmic nursing team and benefits from a comprehensive training infrastructure, with a tailored in-house development programme based at the Penrith centre.
