Reception Manager

About the Role

Tameside Veterinary Clinic is seeking an experienced Reception Manager to lead the reception team across a busy 4-site, 12-vet practice. The role focuses on delivering an exceptional client experience while helping keep day-to-day operations running smoothly across the branches.

This is a strong next step for a highly skilled veterinary receptionist with line management experience. Key Responsibilities

• Lead and line manage the reception team, including rota management and personal development reviews.
• Create and maintain a professional, welcoming clinic environment for clients and their pets.
• Work closely with the senior leadership team to support smooth and efficient practice operations.
• Contribute to the ongoing development of the business.
• Identify underperformance and poor behaviour, then address it through constructive feedback.
• Promote good working practices and help improve efficiencies and standards across the practice.
• Deliver an exceptional client experience.
• Use commercial awareness and an understanding of veterinary business operations in day-to-day decision-making.
• Resolve customer complaints independently or alongside members of the clinical team.
• Carry out additional duties as required by the Practice Manager and Clinical Directors.

Requirements

• Experience as a highly skilled veterinary receptionist.
• BVRA Gold Award or equivalent.
• Previous line management experience.
• Flexibility to work across the branches.
• Managerial qualification with a recognised body such as CIPD, CMI or ILM is desirable but not essential.
