Gilmoor Vets is recruiting a Veterinary Surgeon with advanced skills or leadership aspirations to join their three-site small animal and exotic practice across Durham, Sunderland, and Spennymoor. This is a full-time role (four 9-hour days plus one Saturday in four) with genuine flexibility available, including school-hour working and block scheduling. The practice has deliberately eliminated on-call duties from this position; OOH work is limited to in-patient care only and only in rare circumstances where transfer to their OOH providers isn't possible.
You'll work within a collaborative, inclusive culture that recognises each vet's unique strengths and gives you the freedom to thrive. The team actively mentors developing colleagues and involves all members in a shared-care approach to patient outcomes. Durham itself is a beautiful cathedral city with easy access to Newcastle's cultural buzz and outstanding outdoor spaces including the Lake District, Northumberland, and the Yorkshire Dales within 1-2 hours.
