This is an experienced Veterinary Surgeon role with a surgical bias, based in Burgess Hill, West Sussex. The practice has a high surgical caseload, and the current need is to cover a senior surgeon who is leaving for a sabbatical overseas, with the option of either a 6 month period or a longer term position.
You’ll be joining a practice that values thorough workups, tailored treatment plans and a compassionate approach to patient care. The team is supported by experienced nurses for more complex surgery, including stable anaesthetics, appropriate analgesia and smooth recoveries.
The role includes some consulting on full time hours, so good client communication matters as well as surgical confidence.
This is a purpose built, recently renovated practice with digital X ray, dental radiography, ultrasonography, in house laboratory facilities and separate wards for dogs, cats and isolation cases. The practice also has a loyal client base and around 35 percent insured clients.
The clinical team includes 8 experienced vets, one long term locum, two new graduates, 9 qualified RVNs, 3 trainee nurses, 3 experienced VCAs and a welcoming front of house team. Many team members hold certificates, and professional development is actively supported.
