Vets for Pets Thurrock is looking for a full-time Veterinary Surgeon to take on a Lead or Head Veterinary Surgeon role within its small animal practice. The post is based at Lakeside Retail Park in West Thurrock and combines clinical variety with a leadership pathway.
The rota is full time at 40 to 41 hours a week, with 1:4 weekends covering Saturday 9am to 6pm and Sunday 10:30am to 4:30pm. Bank holiday working is on a rota basis, and there are no OOHs. An internal medicine interest is desirable, and the practice is open to experienced vets progressing into a higher role.
The practice is a purpose-built, modern and progressive small animal site located within Pets at Home at Lakeside Retail Park, Thurrock. It is equipped with digital X-ray and dental X-ray, flexible endoscopes for bronchoscopy, gastroendoscopy and colonoscopy, access to a CT scanner, orthopaedic kit, multi-parameter monitors, nerve locator, drip pumps and CRI systems.
Services mentioned include laparoscopic spays, laser therapy treatments and pet travel certification. The team includes 3 vets, a Clinical Director, 3 RVNs, 3 SVNs, a practice manager, a practice director, a reception manager and 4 client care advisors. The practice is also a VetGDP training practice and has Clinical and Management Practice Directors on site.
