About the Role

This is an excellent opportunity to join Leighton Buzzard Companion Care, a modern, purpose-built clinic serving the local community with a friendly and supportive team atmosphere. You'll work alongside Roman, the Veterinary Partner, who actively encourages professional development and clinical autonomy. The practice offers 20-minute consultation slots as standard, allowing you to build strong relationships with clients and patients without rushed appointments.

Located in Leighton Buzzard with excellent accessibility via the M1 and A4146, the practice benefits from ample free parking. The facility is bright, spacious, air-conditioned, and equipped with digital X-ray, ultrasound, and in-house laboratory capabilities. You'll see a diverse caseload of cats, dogs, rabbits, and guinea pigs across medical and surgical disciplines. Your rota includes weekends on a 1 in 3 basis with compensatory weekday time off; there is occasional sole charge responsibility but no overnight on-call or out-of-hours commitment.

The team boasts varied clinical interests spanning behaviour, wellness, and small furry specialisms. Roman is genuinely supportive of CPD and will back your progress towards Certificate-level qualifications.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality veterinary care across routine medical and surgical cases
• Conduct extended 20-minute consultations with clients and their pets
• Build and maintain strong professional relationships within the team and with the practice community
• Occasionally work as sole charge vet (with team support available)
• Engage with the team's clinical interests and contribute to a supportive practice culture
• Undertake CPD in areas of professional interest

Requirements

• RCVS registered veterinary surgeon
• Confidence and competence in routine surgical and medical cases
• Ability to work flexibly within a rota structure including weekend commitments
• Professional, client-focused approach to patient care
