Portsmouth Vets for Pets is seeking a Veterinary Surgeon to join its independently owned, veterinary-led practice. The role comes with full-time or part-time options, flexible working patterns and no out-of-hours commitments, giving you space to build a working pattern that suits both you and the practice.
You’ll have 15-minute consultations as standard, continuity of care, and genuine clinical autonomy with support available when needed. The practice also offers an open-door approach to case discussion, with no expectation to take on management responsibilities unless that is something you want to explore.
The team is looking for a vet who enjoys general practice, values thoughtful clinical decision-making and wants to develop medical and surgical interests within a supportive environment. Previous vets from the practice have progressed into senior clinical roles and specialist training.
Portsmouth Vets for Pets is a busy first-opinion small animal practice with a stable and supportive team. The practice is independently owned and run by experienced GP Veterinary Surgeon Justyn Loveridge, who has owned and led the practice since 2012.
The team places emphasis on clear communication, pragmatic clinical decision-making and transparent treatment planning. It aims to create an environment where vets can ask questions, develop confidence and feel supported while still having the freedom to develop their own clinical style.
