£60,000 – £65,000/yr
Swinton, North West
Full Time, Part Time
No OOH
Fancy a role where you can do consultations only, work part-time, and never touch OOH? This spacious, recently refurbished practice in Swinton offers brilliant work-life balance with a supportive team who actively back your special interests.

🕐 Schedule & Rota

No OOH, Sundays, or bank holidays. Saturdays on 1:3 rota, moving to 1:4 in a few months.

About the Role

You’ll be joining a standalone, spacious practice in Swinton that has recently undergone a comprehensive refurbishment. This is a flexible opportunity open to both full-time and part-time candidates, and uniquely, it can be tailored as a consultations-only role if that suits your practice style. The role involves no out-of-hours shifts, no Sunday work, and no bank holiday cover—Saturdays are shared on a 1:3 rota (moving to 1:4 soon). With 20-minute standard appointments and 30 minutes allocated for complex cases, you’ll have time to work cases properly and develop your skills in a supportive environment.

The practice benefits from excellent transport links—the train station is directly across the road—and draws a loyal client base with a good variety of cases. You’ll have access to a travelling cardiologist and abdominal ultra-sonographer, reducing the need for external referrals and creating genuine opportunities for in-house clinical development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality consultations and clinical care across small animal medicine and surgery
  • Work alongside three experienced vets, each with specialist interests (Orthopaedic Surgery, Internal Medicine, and Imaging)
  • Contribute to case workup and diagnosis, with encouragement to develop your own clinical interests
  • Collaborate with a team of 4 RVNs, 4 Client Care Advisers, a Client Care Manager, and a Practice Manager
  • Embrace mentorship opportunities with colleagues holding imaging certification and those undertaking Small Animal Orthopaedic Surgery training

Requirements

  • Registered Veterinary Surgeon
  • Strong interest in medicine and case workup (ideal)
  • Ability to deliver excellent patient and client care
  • Team player with enthusiasm for variety and learning
  • Proactive mindset with commitment to professional development

Benefits

  • Competitive salary up to £65,000 FTE (dependent on experience)
  • Generous CPD budget and active support for certificate study
  • Private healthcare
  • All professional memberships paid
  • Exclusive company discounts and rewards, including 20% off Pets at Home, The Groom Room, and The Vet Group
  • An extra day off on your birthday
  • No OOH, Sundays, or bank holiday commitments
  • Flexible hours—part-time or full-time considered
  • Supportive practice culture dedicated to colleague development
