Ready to build your own veterinary legacy? This is your chance to own and operate a thriving small animal practice with the backing of a supportive network—no start-up burden, just your vision and a salary from day one.

About the Role

This is a practice ownership opportunity with Vets for Pets, a network of over 440 independently operated small animal veterinary practices across the UK. You’ll have complete clinical and operational autonomy to shape your practice vision, set your own strategic direction, and lead a team that reflects your values. The financial backing takes the start-up risk out of the equation, allowing you to focus on building personal and professional growth whilst enjoying genuine work-life balance from day one.

The Wallasey practice (Bidston Moss) is an established, well-performing clinic located within a Pets at Home store on a busy retail park. Since opening in 2015, the practice has built a strong local reputation and serves over 1,600 active clients. The location offers excellent visibility, neighbouring businesses (M&S Food, B&Q, gym), and abundant free parking—ideal for attracting and retaining clients.

About the Practice

The Wallasey practice is a well-run small animal clinic with a dedicated, collaborative team. The practice operates three consult rooms (one combined with X-ray), a theatre, separate cat and dog kennels and waiting areas, an isolation ward, and a large prep area. The current team comprises two vets, a practice manager, two RVNs, and two CCAs. The environment they’ve created attracts positive client feedback and reflects a genuine commitment to supporting one another—a culture you’ll inherit and continue to build upon.

As part of the wider Vets for Pets network, you’ll have access to 12 dedicated support departments covering all aspects of practice business management. This means you’re never alone in running your practice; you have expert guidance and resources to help you unlock the true commercial and clinical value of your work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead clinical decision-making and maintain high standards of veterinary care across the practice
  • Manage the day-to-day operations and strategic direction of the practice

  • Develop relationships with local community and referral networks to grow your client base
  • Utilise the support of Vets for Pets’ 12 dedicated departments for HR, finance, marketing, IT, compliance, and other operational needs

Requirements

  • Experienced veterinary surgeon, RVN, or practice manager with a track record of clinical or operational excellence
  • Ambition and entrepreneurial drive to own and grow a successful veterinary business

  • Salary from day one—earn as you build the business
  • Access to 12 dedicated support departments covering finance, HR, marketing, IT, compliance, and more
  • Financial backing—no start-up burden, allowing you to focus on vision and growth
  • Security and stability as part of a larger group whilst maintaining independence
