Administrator - Insurance and Debt

About the Role

This is a full-time Administrator role within the hospital administration team at Vets Now Glasgow Hospital, focused on insurance and debt work. You’ll support the financial and administrative side of the hospital, helping keep claims, pricing and client communication moving smoothly during what can be a stressful time for pet owners.

The role runs Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 16:00, with a fair share of bank holidays. You’ll work closely with clinical, finance and external insurance teams, so this suits someone who is organised, proactive and comfortable handling sensitive financial information.

Key Responsibilities

• Process direct insurance claims and make sure documents are completed accurately.
• Liaise with insurance providers to support claim processing and settlement.
• Track claims through to resolution and keep clients updated where needed.
• Maintain accurate records of insurance paperwork and client details in hospital systems.
• Handle telephone and email queries from clients about insurance.
• Work with clinicians and admin colleagues to gather information needed for claims.
• Support debt administration, including monitoring balances, contacting clients about overdue accounts, managing payment plans and escalating complex cases in line with company policy.

Requirements

• Previous experience in an administrative or customer service role.
• Experience with insurance claims or credit or debt administration is desirable.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organisation and attention to detail.
• Ability to prioritise a varied workload effectively.
• Comfort handling sensitive financial information and discussing it with clients.
