Animal Care Assistant

About the Role

This part-time Animal Care Assistant position is based in Vets Now Bristol, supporting a busy emergency and critical care clinic. You will be helping clinical teams to keep in-patients comfortable and to maintain a calm, stress-free environment during demanding shifts.

The rota is clearly structured. Week 1 is off, then Week 2 includes Monday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday shifts from 21:00 to 09:00 or 19:00 to 07:00, plus a fair share of bank holidays.

Key Responsibilities

• Support Vet Nurses and Vet Surgeons during shifts.
• Handle patients for basic procedures and assist with running diagnostic tests.
• Help set up and clear down theatres for surgical procedures.
• Ensure in-patients receive their basic husbandry needs.

Requirements

• Ability to work the stated night shift rota, including bank holidays.
