ECC Veterinary Surgeon – Weekend

About the Role

You’ll join Vets Now Milton Keynes as a weekend ECC vet, delivering emergency and critical care for small animals when they need it most. This is a refreshingly flexible opportunity: you’re not tied to nights or on-call rotas. Instead, you’ll work a predictable weekend pattern on a 4-week cycle—two weeks on, two weeks completely off—giving you genuine control over your schedule.

You’ll work alongside an established, warm team that genuinely supports each other, backed by central complaint and customer service teams that handle the admin burden so you can focus on the cases in front of you.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide emergency and critical care for dogs, cats, and small animals presenting out-of-hours
• Work a rotational weekend pattern: Week 1 OFF; Week 2 Saturday 12:00–19:30 and Sunday 08:00–18:00; Week 3 Saturday 16:00–22:00 and Sunday 14:00–22:00; Week 4 OFF, plus a share of bank holiday shifts
• Collaborate with experienced ECC clinicians and a supportive team of colleagues
• Contribute to high-standard clinical care and emergency protocols

Requirements

• Registered as a Veterinary Surgeon with the RCVS
• Degree of Veterinary Medicine or equivalent qualification
• Enthusiasm for emergency and critical care (experience desirable but not essential)
• Ability to work collaboratively and flexibly as part of a team
