About the Role

You'll be the welcoming face at Vets Now Staines during Saturday evening and night shifts, working every other Saturday from 17:00 to 00:00 plus a fair share of bank holidays. This is the ideal role if you're looking for genuine part-time flexibility without the stress of unsociable hours dominating your schedule.

As the first point of contact during emergency situations, you'll greet clients in person, answer incoming calls, and book appointments with calm efficiency. Whether handling distressed pet owners or managing the flow of emergency cases, you'll provide friendly, reassuring support and act as the vital link between worried clients and the clinical team.

Key Responsibilities

• Welcome all clients arriving at the clinic and answer incoming calls professionally
• Book emergency appointments and manage the appointment schedule accurately
• Handle financial transactions and process payments
• Manage administrative duties to ensure smooth clinic operation
• Provide real-time updates to the veterinary team about patients arriving or clients needing assistance
• Be a reassuring presence, offering support and information to clients during stressful situations
• Act as liaison between clients and veterinary professionals

Requirements

• Previous reception or customer-facing experience is desirable
• Excellent communication skills and ability to remain calm under pressure
• Friendly, professional manner with strong attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced emergency environment
