About the Role

This weekend Veterinary Nurse role is based at Earlswood Veterinary in Belfast and follows a clear four-week rota pattern. Week 1 includes Saturday 12:00 to 19:30 and Sunday 08:30 to 19:30, Week 2 and Week 3 are off, and Week 4 includes Saturday and Sunday 19:00 to 09:00. A fair share of bank holidays is also part of the rota.

You will be part of Vets Now's emergency care team, supporting ECC cases across triage, surgery, anaesthesia and inpatient care. The role is designed for nurses who want to build ECC experience while keeping weekends as the focus of their working pattern.

The clinical work includes phone advice, in-clinic first aid, critical care monitoring and basic diagnostics in a sole charge capacity.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide first aid advice over the phone and in clinic.
• Support critical care patients through monitoring, trend tracking and prompt recognition of change.
• Carry out physiotherapy, pain assessment, wound care and dressing care.
• Perform basic diagnostic procedures when working sole charge.
• Contribute to triage, surgery, anaesthesia and inpatient care within the emergency team.

Requirements

• RCVS registration for at least six months.
• Confidence maintaining clinic standards.
• Genuine interest in caring for clients and their pets.
• ECC caseload experience is beneficial.
