About the Role

This Weekend Veterinary Nurse role in Cheltenham is built around emergency and critical care work, with rota patterns that include set Saturday and Sunday shifts. It is a chance to deepen your ECC knowledge while fitting around family life or a second income.

You will be part of a nursing team that sits at the centre of clinical treatment, supporting triage, surgery, anaesthesia and in-patient care. The rota details are clear and structured, with one pattern covering weekends in weeks 1, 3 and 5, and another covering weekends in weeks 2, 4 and 6, plus a fair share of bank holidays.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide first aid advice over the phone and in clinic.
• Support critical care, including monitoring major body systems and in-patient trends.
• Spot changes quickly and help with physiotherapy, pain assessment, wound care and dressing care.
• Carry out basic diagnostic procedures in a sole charge capacity.

Requirements

• RCVS registered for a minimum of six months.
• Motivated to maintain high clinic standards.
• Passionate about caring for clients and their pets.
• ECC caseload experience is advantageous.
