Registered Veterinary Nurse

About the Role

This part-time Veterinary Nurse position is based in Peterborough and is centred on emergency and critical care work. The rota covers every other Friday from 19:00 to 09:00, plus a fair share of bank holidays.

You will be part of a nursing team that supports clinical treatment across triage, surgery, anaesthesia and in-patient care. The role also includes working in a sole charge capacity for basic diagnostics, alongside first aid advice over the phone and in clinic.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide first aid advice over the phone and in clinic.
• Support critical care through monitoring major body systems and in-patient trends.
• Spot changes quickly and assist with patient observation and care.
• Carry out physiotherapy, pain assessment, wound care and dressing care.
• Perform basic diagnostic procedures in a sole charge capacity.
• Contribute to triage, surgery, anaesthesia and in-patient care within the emergency nursing team.

Requirements

• RCVS registration for a minimum of six months.
• Experience with an ECC caseload is advantageous.
• A motivated approach to maintaining high clinic standards.
• A genuine commitment to caring for clients and their pets.
