A weekend-focused RVN role in ECC, with rota patterns set out clearly and the chance to build on your emergency nursing experience in Portsmouth. It also offers structured support, including access to an ECC certificate and CPD package.
This weekend RVN opportunity is based with Vets Now Portsmouth and is designed for nurses who want to develop their ECC knowledge while working a rota that can support other commitments. The listing sets out two working patterns: every other weekend on Saturday 12:00 to 19:30 and Sunday 08:00 to 19:30, plus a fair share of bank holidays, or a six-week pattern covering Sunday 08:00 to 19:30 in weeks 1, 5 and 6, Saturday 12:00 to 19:30 and Sunday 08:00 to 19:30 in week 3, and no shifts in weeks 2 and 4, again with a fair share of bank holidays.
The nursing team sits at the heart of clinical treatment, with work spanning triage, surgery, anaesthesia and in-patient care. You will be involved in first aid, critical care and diagnostics, including telephone advice, in-clinic support, monitoring patients, and performing basic diagnostic procedures in a sole charge capacity.
Vets Now Portsmouth is part of Vets Now, and the clinic is described as a highly skilled emergency team supporting pets when they need urgent care most. The role sits within an ECC environment, with development opportunities including access to professional qualifications such as the ECC certificate.
The business also highlights its Disability Confident Employer status and encourages candidates from diverse and minority backgrounds to apply.
