Registered Veterinary Nurse

About the Role

This full-time roving Veterinary Nurse position is based across Vets Now clinics in Southampton, Bournemouth and Portsmouth. It sits within an emergency pet care setting, with nursing work closely linked to triage, surgery, anaesthesia and in-patient care.

The rota covers 40 hours per week, including weeknights, 1:2 weekends and a fair share of bank holidays. The role also includes working in a sole charge capacity for basic diagnostic procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide first aid advice over the phone and in clinic.
• Support critical care through monitoring major body systems, tracking in-patient trends and spotting changes quickly.
• Carry out physiotherapy, pain assessment, wound care and dressing care.
• Perform basic diagnostic procedures when working in a sole charge capacity.
• Contribute to clinical treatment alongside the wider nursing team.

Requirements

• RCVS registered for a minimum of six months.
• Motivated to maintain high clinic standards.
• Passionate about caring for clients and their pets.
• ECC caseload experience is advantageous.
