Veterinary Receptionist

About the Role

This part-time Veterinary Receptionist role is based at Vets Now Swansea, within Lakeside Veterinary Surgery in Llansamlet. The working pattern is clearly defined, with evening shifts running from 18:00 to 00:00 across a four-week rota, plus a fair share of bank holidays.

You will be the first point of contact for clients coming through during emergency situations, helping to keep the clinic organised, calm and responsive. The role combines front-of-house support, admin and client communication within a busy out-of-hours setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Be the first point of contact for clients by phone and in person during emergency situations.
• Greet clients, answer calls, book appointments and handle financial transactions.
• Carry out administrative duties to help the clinic run smoothly.
• Pass updates to veterinary staff about patients en route or clients needing support.
• Provide a friendly and reassuring presence for clients when they need it most.
• Act as a link between clients and veterinary professionals.

Requirements

• Experience of working with clients or customers in a busy setting.
• Confidence handling calls, appointments and payments.
• A calm, supportive approach in emergency situations.
• Ability to work the stated part-time evening rota, including bank holidays.
