About the Role

This part-time opportunity invites you to join Vets Now Sutton, a dedicated out-of-hours emergency and critical care clinic serving the London area. Working an average of 20 hours per week on a manageable four-week rolling rota, you'll gain exposure to diverse emergency cases while maintaining genuine flexibility. The rota pattern gives you predictability: one week completely off, followed by weekend day shifts, night shifts mid-week, and weekend days again.

You'll be working alongside a skilled team of clinicians who handle dogs, cats and small animals presenting with acute medical and surgical emergencies. The environment is designed to sharpen your clinical skills in high-acuity cases while supporting your professional development through coaching and structured progression pathways.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide emergency veterinary care for small animals presenting out-of-hours
• Work collaboratively with the emergency team during assigned shifts (nights, weekends)
• Manage acute cases including triage, stabilisation and treatment decisions
• Contribute to the continuous quality and standards of emergency care delivery
• Engage with professional development and coaching from senior colleagues

Requirements

• RCVS registered veterinary surgeon
• Willingness to work night shifts and weekend coverage
• Ability to function effectively in a high-pressure emergency environment
• Professional communication and teamwork skills
