Weekend Veterinary Nurse

About the Role

This weekend Veterinary Nurse position is based at Prospect House Vets in Colwyn Bay and offers a varied emergency care caseload. The rota is clearly structured, with Week 1 off, Week 2 covering Saturday from 12:00 to 19:00 and Sunday from 08:30 to 19:30, Week 3 off, and Week 4 covering Saturday from 19:00 to 09:00 and Sunday from 19:00 to 08:30, plus a fair share of bank holidays.

You will be joining a team focused on emergency and critical care, with the chance to build ECC knowledge while working weekends. The role also suits someone looking to balance family commitments or gain a second income without taking on a full weekday rota.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide first aid advice over the phone and in clinic.
• Support critical care through monitoring major body systems and in-patient trends.
• Spot clinical changes quickly and contribute to ongoing patient monitoring.
• Carry out physiotherapy, pain assessment, wound care and dressing care.
• Perform basic diagnostic procedures in a sole charge capacity.

Requirements

• RCVS registered for a minimum of six months.
• Experience with an ECC caseload is advantageous.
• Motivated to maintain high clinic standards.
• Passionate about client and pet care.
