Dedicated out-of-hours ECC position. Flexible shift patterns available: 1:4 Saturday 12:00–18:30 and Sunday 08:30–18:30, or 2:4 Saturday and Sunday 18:00–00:00, plus shared bank holiday cover. Flexibility to accommodate individual scheduling preferences.

You’ll work weekend shifts at Vets Now Wolverhampton’s out-of-hours clinic, providing emergency care for small animals when they need it most. The role is ideal whether you want to pick up a few shifts monthly or build towards full-time ECC work—the team prides itself on accommodating what works for your life.

You’ll choose from flexible shift patterns: 1:4 Saturday afternoons (12:00–18:30) and Sundays (08:30–18:30), or 2:4 Saturday and Sunday nights (18:00–00:00), plus a share of bank holiday cover. Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver emergency and critical care to dogs, cats, and small animals attending the Wolverhampton out-of-hours clinic
  • Work as part of a dedicated ECC team, supported by experienced clinicians and central complaint/customer service teams
  • Assess, diagnose, and treat acute and time-critical cases during assigned shifts
  • Maintain accurate clinical records and communicate effectively with the wider team
  • Contribute to a supportive, collaborative culture where quality care comes first

Requirements

  • Registered Veterinary Surgeon (RCVS qualified)
  • Interest in emergency and critical care work
  • Ability to work flexibly across weekend shifts and bank holidays
  • No specific ECC experience required—the clinic supports vets of all experience levels through mentoring and training
