This is a full or part-time veterinary surgeon position at a thriving small animal practice just a 5-minute walk from Stevenage train station. There is no out-of-hours requirement. The role is 35 to 40 hours per week, including one in four weekends (Saturday 9am to 5pm, Sunday 10:30am to 3:30pm), offering genuine work-life balance that many practices struggle to provide. You'll be joining a stable, knowledgeable team of three vets, four registered veterinary nurses, one student nurse (soon to qualify), a veterinary care assistant, and two receptionists.
The practice is purpose-built with state-of-the-art facilities including digital X-ray, ultrasound, and in-house laboratory. You'll see a real variety of cases, including small furries, with several team members holding certificates in feline medicine and exotics. The practice is working towards gold standard rabbit care accreditation. Clinical support comes from both senior colleagues and the Clinical Development Manager (a qualified vet) when needed. The practice owner, Rosie, is a qualified veterinary nurse who has been with the team for 13 years and is committed to fostering a positive, caring environment.
