About the Role

Village Vet Winchmore Hill is seeking a confident Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon to join their established five-vet team in North London. This full-time position offers a refreshing approach to practice life: 42 hours per week compressed into four days, with a manageable rota of 1 in 4 Saturdays and 1 in 8 Sundays plus one bank holiday per year. You'll be working in a modern, progressive practice that genuinely invests in its people and facilities. Situated in vibrant Winchmore Hill, the practice sits at the heart of a thriving local community surrounded by independent cafes, shops, and restaurants. Excellent public transport links make the location easily accessible, and you'll be serving a well-established, loyal client base who appreciate quality care. The practice prides itself on appointment-only consultations with a minimum of 15 minutes per patient—giving you the time to deliver thorough, tailored care without the rushed chaos of many busy practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver first-opinion small animal consultations in a calm, appointment-only environment
• Perform routine surgical procedures with confidence, supported by comprehensive on-site surgical facilities
• Manage dental cases using state-of-the-art digital dental x-ray equipment
• Utilise digital radiography, ultrasound, and in-house laboratory diagnostics to work up cases to a high standard
• Collaborate with a friendly, experienced team of four other vets to provide exceptional patient care
• Contribute to a culture of continuous professional development and team support

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years' experience in a UK small animal practice
• Confident with routine surgery and consultations
• Strong teamwork, communication, and client-care skills
• Commitment to providing high-quality, contextualised patient care
• Full RCVS registration as a Veterinary Surgeon
