No on-call or out-of-hours work required. Saturday morning shifts (9:00am–12:00pm) on a 1-in-4 rota only.

About the Role

You’ll be joining Alexander Vets, a well-established small animal practice nestled on the outskirts of the Lake District—a location that truly delivers on the promise of outdoor living, with easy access to stunning walks, water sports, and countryside activities. This is a full-time position working four days per week (shifts between 8:30am and 6:00pm) plus one half-day each week, with just a single Saturday morning shift (9:00am–12:00pm) on a 1-in-4 rota. Importantly, there’s no on-call or out-of-hours work required, giving you genuine time to enjoy your weekends and personal life.

The practice has recently invested in modern facilities including digital X-ray, ultrasound, laser therapy, and in-house laboratory capabilities, so you’ll have the tools to deliver comprehensive case management. The team values collaborative, high-standard care for a loyal client base.

Key Responsibilities

  • Run nurse-led clinics independently
  • Deliver hands-on inpatient care and monitoring
  • Assist with laboratory work and diagnostic imaging procedures
  • Monitor anaesthesia during surgical cases
  • Support the daily smooth operation and workflow of the practice

Requirements

  • Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) qualification
  • Confident, dedicated approach to nursing care
  • Willingness to work Saturday morning shifts on a 1-in-4 rota
