Veterinary Surgeon

About the Role

This Dispensing Veterinary Surgeon position is fully remote and built around 24 hours per week, worked across Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 08:00 to 17:00. A job share arrangement is also open for discussion, and training is delivered remotely.

You will be supporting prescription review and medication dispensing for a business that supplies medicines, pet food and other animal related products across the UK. The role sits within Animed, where the focus is on accurate dispensing, clear communication and helping pet owners use medications safely.

Key Responsibilities

• Review prescriptions for validity and clinical appropriateness.
• Raise queries with veterinary practices when clarification is needed from the prescribing veterinary surgeon.
• Dispense medications accurately and in line with veterinary guidelines.
• Advise pet owners on medication administration and possible side effects.
• Work with the wider veterinary team to support patient care.
• Keep pharmaceutical and inventory records accurate.

Requirements

• A veterinary degree.
• RCVS registration.
• Experience in a clinical setting, including prescribing and dispensing.
• Strong communication skills.
• Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
