About the Role

Ashleigh Veterinary Centre in Chorlton is a busy, supportive small animal and exotic practice spanning two sites (Chorlton and Sale), with a dedicated Avian and Exotic referral clinic. You’ll be joining a collaborative team that delivers high-standard veterinary care with a focus on patient welfare and genuine client relationships—no targets, just honest medicine and a positive working culture.

This full-time position runs 40 hours per week over 4 days (Monday to Friday), with shifts between 8:00am and 7:45pm, plus a 1 in 5 weekend rota covering Saturday mornings (8:00am–12:00pm) and Sundays (9:00am–11:30am). You’ll have a scheduled day off each week and participate in a bank holiday rota. No two days will be the same—you’ll work across small animal and exotic cases in a truly varied nursing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality nursing care across small animal and exotic caseloads
  • Support surgical procedures including anaesthesia monitoring and theatre nursing
  • Manage inpatient care and support patient recovery
  • Run and support nurse consultations, promoting preventative healthcare and client engagement
  • Perform admissions, pharmacy duties, and client communication
  • Work collaboratively with veterinary surgeons and the wider team to maintain clinical standards

Requirements

  • Registration as a Veterinary Nurse with the RCVS
  • Experience working in clinical practice with growing confidence in medical and surgical nursing
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with clients and colleagues
  • Good organisational skills and effective workload management
  • A proactive approach to learning, reflection, and continuous improvement
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
