Four days a week, no out-of-hours nights, and a team that actually has your back. Bilton Veterinary Centre in Rugby is looking for a vet who wants variety without the chaos.

🕐 Schedule & Rota

No out-of-hours or bank holiday commitments. Weekend duties are shared on a 1 in 5 basis (Saturday mornings until 1:00pm) and 1 in 5 basis (Saturday until 4pm).

About the Role

You’ll join Bilton Veterinary Centre as a Veterinary Surgeon delivering varied small animal medicine across consultations, surgery, and diagnostics in a modern, well-equipped practice. This is a four-day-per-week role designed with work-life balance front and centre—your shifts typically run 8:30am–7:00pm, with one earlier finish day (8:00am–6:00pm), and weekend duties are limited to Saturday mornings on a manageable 1:5 rota. There’s no out-of-hours or bank holiday on-call commitment, and the practice is genuinely open to discussing flexible working patterns that suit your lifestyle.

Based in Rugby—a thriving town with excellent local amenities, shops, restaurants, and easy access to Birmingham, London, and countryside gems like the Cotswolds and Peak District—this role offers both professional opportunity and genuine life balance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver primary care small animal consultations across a varied caseload
  • Perform surgical procedures in two fully equipped sterile theatres
  • Conduct diagnostic imaging, including digital radiography, ultrasound with Doppler, and dental imaging
  • Provide dental treatment using dedicated facilities
  • Contribute to a collaborative team of 7 vets, 9 registered veterinary nurses, and support staff
  • Develop expertise in areas of clinical interest—surgery, imaging, cardiology, or internal medicine—with active team support

Requirements

  • Registered as a Veterinary Surgeon with the RCVS
  • Small animal practice experience (level of experience not specified as essential)
  • Professional approach to clinical work and team collaboration

About the Practice

Bilton Veterinary Centre is a modern, purpose-built small animal practice in Rugby, part of IVC Evidensia, a leading veterinary care group. The practice is equipped with five consulting rooms, separate waiting areas and wards for cats, dogs, and small animals, two fully equipped sterile theatres, dedicated dental and treatment areas, digital radiography, dental imaging, ultrasound with Doppler capabilities, in-house laboratory facilities, and comprehensive monitoring systems. The team comprises 7 Veterinary Surgeons, 9 Registered Veterinary Nurses, and strong reception and administrative support.
