About the Role

You’ll step into a leadership position overseeing Buchan Vets across three sites in Aberdeenshire: Peterhead, Fraserburgh, and Turriff. This is an exciting opportunity to drive clinical excellence and team development whilst maintaining hands-on involvement in clinical duties. You’ll work closely with the Senior Practice Director and Regional Director, championing the practice’s core values and acting as a positive role model to the wider team.

Based in peaceful, scenic Aberdeenshire where the coast meets countryside, you’ll be part of a well-established, forward-thinking practice with genuine investment in growth and team wellbeing. With no on-call commitments and a flexible working environment, you’ll have space to focus on what matters most—both clinically and personally.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a diverse clinical team including veterinary surgeons, registered veterinary nurses, patient care assistants, receptionists and admin staff across multiple sites
  • Maintain active clinical duties as a veterinary surgeon whilst providing strategic leadership
  • Drive high engagement and foster a collaborative, supportive team culture
  • Deliver and continuously improve high-quality clinical services with measurable performance improvements
  • Interpret financial data, KPI dashboards and business metrics to inform strategic decisions
  • Champion new service development and identify opportunities for practice and team growth
  • Communicate key messages and values effectively across all practices
  • Work collaboratively with other leaders across the CVS business

Requirements

  • Registered as a veterinary surgeon with the RCVS
  • Proven clinical experience and active involvement in clinical practice
  • Leadership experience or genuine ambition to develop leadership skills (first-time leaders encouraged to apply)
  • Strong communication and people management abilities
  • Business acumen with the ability to work with financial and performance data
  • Flexibility, adaptability and a collaborative approach to supporting colleagues
  • Passion for clinical excellence and team development

  • Salary: Up to £85,000 FTE (dependent on experience)
