This is a permanent small animal Veterinary Surgeon role at Chipping Norton Veterinary Hospital, offering up to £68,000 DOE, plus a welcome bonus of up to £5,000 pro rata and relocation support of up to £5,000.
The full time rota is 40 hours across four days, with shifts from 08:30 to 19:00. You will also cover 1:3 Saturday shifts from 08:30 to 14:00, alongside a shared 1:10 on call rota.
The caseload is varied, spanning consultations, operations and diagnostics, and the team is looking for someone with a surgical certificate or highly experienced surgical background. The hospital sits on the edge of a Cotswold market town, with a strong local lifestyle appeal.
Chipping Norton Veterinary Hospital is an RCVS accredited Tier 3 hospital and part of inspiring vet care. The hospital is purpose built and excellently equipped, with full lab facilities, DR x ray, dental x ray, a 64 slice CT scanner, flexible and rigid endoscopes, ultrasound with colour Doppler, full orthopaedic kit, a slit lamp and a tonometer.
The team includes 14 Veterinary Surgeons, 20 Registered Veterinary Nurses, 3 Student Registered Nurses and 6 Animal Nursing Assistants. Among the vets are a Specialist in Zoo & Wildlife Medicine and Advanced Practitioners in Small Animal Medicine and ECC, with regular visits from a referral dermatologist and Veterinary Specialist Surgeon. The practice receives referrals nationally for exotic pets and radioiodine therapy of hyperthyroid cats, and locally for outpatient CT scanning plus some internal medicine and orthopaedic surgery cases.
