About the Role

Condorrat Veterinary Surgery is seeking a Registered Veterinary Nurse to join its close-knit team in Cumbernauld. This is a full-time permanent role offering genuine work-life balance: you'll work a 5-day week with a manageable 1:4 Saturday morning rota (8:30 am–1 pm only), with absolutely no Sunday or out-of-hours commitments—those are handled by GUVS. With no scheduled consultations between 12:30 pm and 3 pm, you'll always have time for a proper lunch break. The practice has been established for over 35 years and is an RCVS-approved nurse training practice. You'll work alongside a supportive 2-vet team and fellow nurses (including a Head Nurse/Practice Manager and additional RVNs) who describe the environment as having "a small family-friendly vibe" with genuinely great working relationships and plenty of banter. Located on the outskirts of Glasgow with easy access to green spaces like Palacerigg Country Park, you're just 20 minutes from Glasgow and Stirling, and an hour from Edinburgh. The team is known for their social spirit—expect murder mystery nights, team trips to spa hotels, and regular celebrations that make coming to work enjoyable.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care across inpatient care, anaesthesia support, and nurse clinics
• Run an extensive range of nurse-led clinics, utilising the full scope of your RVN skillset
• Provide high-standard patient and client care aligned with the practice's commitment to trusting relationships
• Participate in fun team social events like murder mystery nights and spa trips
• Work flexibly within the rota system (early and late shifts shared equally across the week)
• Support continuing professional development for student nurses as part of an RCVS-approved training practice

Requirements

• Current RCVS registration as a Registered Veterinary Nurse
• Commitment to delivering high-standard veterinary nursing care
• Ability to work collaboratively in a supportive small animal team
• Flexibility and openness to developing your interests—the practice actively encourages further training and certificates

Condorrat Veterinary Surgery is an independent small animal practice with over 35 years' experience serving the local Cumbernauld community. The practice is an RCVS-approved nurse training centre, meaning many of its nursing team have trained in-house and progressed within the business. The fully equipped clinic includes medical and surgical equipment, dental facilities, and X-ray capabilities, enabling comprehensive veterinary care for dogs, cats, and small pets. The practice prioritises building long-term relationships with patients and their owners, with many families returning throughout their pets' lifespans.
