Clinical Director

About the Role

Creature Comforts is opening a brand-new clinic in Beckenham and seeking an experienced Clinical Director to lead from launch. You will have the rare opportunity to build and inspire a team within a beautifully designed, purpose-built environment while shaping the clinic's clinical and cultural future.

Spending 80% of your time in clinical practice, you will balance hands-on veterinary care with strategic leadership. You will be supported and guided by Creature Comforts' leadership team while enjoying autonomy to lead the clinic according to the practice's values and model. This is a full-time permanent role with no night shifts or out-of-hours requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead clinical excellence: deliver high standards of patient care, implement clinical audits, support staff professional development, and champion evidence-based medicine
• Direct the vet team, nursing director, and practice director through regular one-to-ones, performance reviews, and documented team meetings
• Oversee business performance including membership and client acquisition, working alongside the membership manager to achieve targets
• Manage clinic strategy across health and safety, recruitment, HR, marketing, and client experience
• Deliver financial performance within allocated budget; understand P&Ls, KPIs, and pricing systems to influence revenue
• Champion workplace wellbeing, foster a culture of respect and inclusion, and be an early identifier of team concerns
• Represent Creature Comforts within the veterinary industry and local community

Requirements

• Qualified veterinary surgeon (RCVS registered)
• Proven veterinary leadership experience
• Passion for clinical excellence and evidence-based medicine
• Ability to lead and develop a multi-disciplinary team
• Commercial awareness and financial acumen
• Understanding of business models, KPIs, and P&L management
• Commitment to team wellbeing and inclusive workplace culture
