About the Role
This is a rare opportunity to join a brand new Creature Comforts clinic in Cobham as Clinical Director, helping shape the practice from the very beginning. The role combines hands-on clinical work with leadership across clinical, financial and people priorities, and you will spend 80% of your time clinically.
You'll lead by example in a beautifully designed, purpose-built clinic, with support from the broader Creature Comforts leadership team. The role also includes direct line management of the vet team, Head Nurse and Practice Manager, alongside responsibility for clinic strategy, team development, membership growth and overall performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead clinical delivery and spend 80% of your time in clinical work.
- Set and maintain clinical governance, clinical standards and evidence-based practice.
- Direct education, CPD, clinical audits and quality improvement within the team.
- Oversee business performance, including membership and client acquisition.
- Work with the membership manager to achieve membership objectives and targets.
- Guide clinic strategy at a local level, including HR, recruitment, health and safety, marketing and client care.
- Manage budget planning, financial delivery, pricing and KPI-led performance.
- Lead and develop the practice team, including the Practice Manager, Head Nurse and vet team.
- Hold regular performance conversations, 1:1s and documented team meetings.
- Promote a positive culture focused on wellbeing, respect, inclusion and open communication.
- Act as an advocate for Creature Comforts within the veterinary industry and local community.
Requirements
- Experienced veterinary surgeon and leader.
- Ability to oversee clinical, financial and people performance.
- Strong veterinary leadership and team management skills.
- Ability to support and develop direct reports through regular 1:1s.
- Comfort with clinical governance, audits, KPIs and budget management.
- Passion for the aims and model of Creature Comforts.
