Registered Veterinary Nurse

About the Role

This Registered Veterinary Nurse role is based in a brand new practice in Cobham, where the focus is on creating a different kind of veterinary experience. The clinic is being redesigned around seamless access to care, with beautifully designed surroundings and in house purpose built technology.

You will be part of a team that wants to combine modern style with first class pet care, helping to make the clinic a place that vet teams, owners and pets genuinely want to spend time in. The role suits someone who enjoys clinical nursing, nurse consulting and being part of a new venture with an entrepreneurial spirit.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out screening procedures such as auscultation and sample collection.
• Monitor anaesthetics and keep accurate records.
• Write clear and comprehensive clinical notes.
• Administer treatments as directed.
• Clean and disinfect surgical rooms, equipment and clinical workspaces.
• Support vets during invasive and non invasive procedures.
• Attend to unsettled animals promptly.
• Monitor stock levels and help keep supplies up to date.
• Take part in the nurse consult rota when needed.
• Help educate pet owners on routine and specialised care.

Requirements

• Demonstrable experience as a veterinary nurse.
• Nurse consulting experience.
• GA monitoring experience.
• Knowledge of surgical etiquette and quarantining procedures.
• Veterinary Nursing Degree or equivalent.
• Team player with strong communication skills.
• Ability to show initiative and work independently.
• Practice management system experience.
