About the Role

Cundall & Duffy is seeking a Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon to join their experienced and friendly team in Scarborough, a vibrant coastal town nestled on the edge of the North Yorkshire Moors. This is a full-time position working 40 hours across four days, though the practice is flexible and open to part-time arrangements if that suits you better. The best part? No out-of-hours cover, no Sundays, and no on-call responsibilities—just genuine work-life balance with equally shared Saturday mornings.

Based in a single-site practice, you’ll be working alongside a wonderful, supportive team in a forward-thinking, RCVS-accredited clinic. All clinical interests are welcome, and you’ll have the opportunity to develop your skills across a varied and interesting caseload with great clients. The practice is within commuting distance of York, Hull, Whitby, and numerous other North Yorkshire towns, making it accessible from a wide area.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide general practice small animal care, managing a varied caseload with clinical confidence and precision
  • Carry out diagnostic investigations and clinical procedures to a high standard
  • Develop your clinical expertise and take on case leadership across different case types
  • Support and mentor team members, fostering a collaborative and supportive working environment
  • Contribute to shaping clinical standards and best practice across the practice
  • Build strong client relationships, creating positive and reassuring experiences that build trust
  • Offer guidance to the wider team on clinical matters and animal care

Requirements

  • Qualified Veterinary Surgeon (RCVS registered)
  • Confident clinical skills with the ability to handle a varied small animal caseload
  • Commitment to providing outstanding care and delivering excellent standards
  • Team player with natural mentoring and communication abilities
  • Keen to develop further clinical expertise and confidence
  • Strong client care focus and ability to build trust with owners
