Registered Veterinary Nurse Team Leader

About the Role

This Outpatient Team Leader RVN position offers the chance to move into leadership while staying closely involved in clinical work. You will join a multidisciplinary specialist hospital and work alongside fellow Team Leaders, Head Nurses and specialist medicine nurses in a role where your ideas, support and leadership are valued.

The position covers a varied mix of teams, including Oncology, Cardiology, Dermatology, Laboratory, Stock and Dispensary. Much of the work is hands-on and collaborative, from helping keep clinician diaries running smoothly to supporting patient flow and assisting with procedures and consultations.

The hospital describes the environment as busy and varied, with no two days the same. The role is based on site at Lumbry Park in Alton, Hampshire.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, coach and support a team of 3 RVNs and 3 PCAs with regular check-ins, one-to-ones and day-to-day guidance.
• Work closely with fellow Team Leaders and Head Nurses to support smooth hospital operations.
• Support the Oncology and Cardiology services, including patient care, procedures and consultations.
• Work alongside the Specialist Cardiology RVN to help keep clinician diaries organised and efficient.
• Liaise with the Laboratory Technician, Stock team and Dispensary team to support patient flow and service delivery.
• Contribute to monthly Team Leader meetings and Clinical Governance meetings.
• Support junior colleagues with training, encouragement and practical clinical guidance.
• Work closely with the Wards and Anaesthesia teams when extra support is needed.

Requirements

• An experienced RVN ready to take the next step into leadership.
