Weekend Registered Veterinary Nurse

About the Role

This weekend Veterinary Nurse position is based in Coventry and offers a chance to develop ECC knowledge in a structured out-of-hours setting. The rota is 1:4 weekends, with Saturdays from 12:00 to 18:30 and Sundays from 08:30 to 18:30, plus a fair share of bank holidays.

The role is designed for someone who wants meaningful clinical exposure alongside a predictable weekend pattern. You will be part of a nursing team involved in triage, surgery, anaesthesia, and inpatient care, with the opportunity to build confidence in emergency work.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide first aid advice over the phone and in clinic.
• Support critical care through monitoring major body systems and inpatient trends.
• Identify changes in patients quickly and contribute to physiotherapy, pain assessment, wound care, and dressing care.
• Carry out basic diagnostic procedures in a sole charge capacity.

Requirements

• RCVS registration for at least six months.
• Confidence to work in an ECC environment.
• Ability to maintain clinic standards.
• A genuine interest in caring for clients and their pets.
• ECC caseload experience is advantageous.
