About the Role

Torbridge is a small animal practice with a varied first opinion caseload and a team of vets, nurses, PCAs and receptionists. You will be joining a friendly, collaborative environment where clinicians are encouraged to make decisions, improve practice and share learning.

This is a part time role for 19 hours per week, with rota and shift flexibility to suit the right candidate. Saturday cover is on a 1:6 rota for 12 hours, and this can be taken as TOIL or paid as extra. Full time and part time applications are considered, and there are no out of hours requirements.

The caseload includes orthopaedic surgery, dental x-ray and medicine referrals. The practice supports further development, with existing certificate holders in surgery, oncology and medicine, plus a monthly visiting dermatologist and a weekly visiting ophthalmologist.

Some sole charge will be required, and the practice also has a student focused environment supporting placements for Bristol Internal Medicine Referrals, offering good exposure for teaching and development.

Key Responsibilities

• Work as a Veterinary Surgeon within a small animal first opinion practice in Bideford.
• Manage a varied caseload including orthopaedic surgery, dental x-ray and medicine referrals.
• Take responsibility for surgical and medical cases, including diagnostic investigations.
• Provide guidance and support to colleagues across the clinical team.

Requirements

• Qualified Veterinary Surgeon.
