Anaesthesia Clinician

About the Role

This is a permanent Anaesthesia Clinician position at Bristol Vet Specialists in Bristol, with a start date of February 2027. The hospital describes itself as a world-leading referral site with a busy and complex caseload, and the role is focused on full-time specialist support.

You will be joining a sizeable anaesthesia team that includes 5 Anaesthesia Specialists, 3 residents and a large group of anaesthesia nurses. The post also offers the opportunity to support anaesthesia at a dedicated local equine hospital.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the anaesthesia department across a multi-discipline referral hospital.
• Contribute to advanced interventional procedures, including TEER, atrial decompression and cardiac interventions.
• Provide expert anaesthesia support to first opinion and sister referral centres.
• Help drive innovation, excellence, and development within the anaesthesia team.
• Support the growth of residents, interns and nursing teams through coaching and mentoring.

Requirements

• Residency trained in anaesthesia as a minimum.
• Diplomate status is preferred.
• A highly collaborative approach.
• An interest in coaching and mentoring.
• A willingness to critique and improve patient safety, clinical outcomes and internal efficiency.

Bristol Vet Specialists is a large specialist-led, referral-only hospital in Bristol and part of CVS. Its referral services include Cardiology, Dentistry, Dermatology, Diagnostic Imaging, Emergency and Critical Care, Neurology and Neurosurgery, Oncology, Ophthalmology, Orthopaedics, and Soft Tissue Surgery.

The hospital is purpose-built and equipped with MRI, CT, fluoroscopy, a radiotherapy unit with a linear accelerator, 5 theatres, canine and feline ICUs, plus referral nurses and support staff.
