About the Role

Rosemullion Veterinary Hospital is seeking a compassionate Veterinary Surgeon to join a friendly, collaborative team in Falmouth, Cornwall. The role is 24 hours per week, typically worked on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, with flexibility discussed for the right candidate. There are no weekend requirements, although additional weekend work is available if desired.

The position can be based across both the Falmouth and Helston sites, with the option to be primarily based in Helston if preferred. With on-site out-of-hours cover provided by CVS Vets 24/7 Falmouth, you can focus on a varied first-opinion caseload without routine OOH commitments.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out consultations, surgical procedures, inpatient care and medical case management
• Work across the Falmouth and Helston sites, or primarily from Helston if preferred
• Provide clinical care within a multidisciplinary first-opinion team
• Work up cases thoroughly using the hospital's diagnostic and surgical facilities
• Contribute to a collaborative approach to patient care alongside experienced colleagues

Requirements

• Qualified Veterinary Surgeon
• Ideally qualified for 2 years or more
• Enjoys building strong client relationships
• Medicine or general practice interest preferred, but not essential
• Thrive in a collaborative team environment
• Passionate about delivering high standards of patient care
• Applications from vets with postgraduate qualifications are welcomed

About the Practice

Rosemullion Veterinary Hospital is a thriving small animal hospital in Falmouth, Cornwall, with a second site in Helston. It is a Gold Standard Cat Friendly Clinic and a Gold Standard Rabbit Friendly Clinic, and it is rated Outstanding in both the Team and Professional Responsibility and Diagnostic Service awards.

The veterinary team includes certificate holders and Advanced Practitioners across small animal surgery, ophthalmology, internal medicine, diagnostic imaging, and emergency and critical care. Across the three sites, the team includes 17 vets, 14 FTE, with dedicated night vets. The hospital also offers high-quality ultrasonography, digital radiography, an on-site CT scanner, endoscopy facilities, dedicated surgical suites and modern hospital facilities.
