About the Role

This is an opportunity for an experienced mixed vet or small animal vet who can take part in on-call work. The role can be mixed or small animal only, and the rota is paired at 1 in 7, with an additional 1 in 14 Saturday mornings.

The practice is client focused and independent, with a friendly, helpful team culture. You will be encouraged to find a niche that suits your interests, with the flexibility for roles to evolve over time.

Weekend consulting hours also run from the Newark branch on a separate rota of small animal vets, helping to reduce the out-of-hours workload. After a weekend on call, vets currently have Monday to Wednesday off, and Friday is given off after a Saturday morning shift. There is also a rotating late start before a night on call.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide mixed or small animal veterinary care within an independent practice in Nottinghamshire.
• Take part in the paired 1 in 7 on-call rota.
• Cover 1 in 14 Saturday mornings as part of the rota.
• Work alongside the team to support both small and large animal calls when on call.
• Contribute to a practice that offers in-house referrals across cardiology, ophthalmology, behaviour, gait analysis, expert OA treatment and orthopaedic surgery.

About the Practice

Minster Veterinary Centre Ltd is a fiercely independent mixed practice in Nottinghamshire with 4 fully functioning surgeries and 2 further branch practices. The team includes veterinary surgeons and offers services across companion animals, livestock, equine and production animal care.

The practice provides first opinion and ambulatory equine care, with a dedicated equine unit 2 days a week for performance and lameness investigation. It also provides a full production animal service, including herd and flock health planning, routine tuberculin testing, ambulatory care and out of hours services. Diagnostic facilities include digital x-ray, dental x-ray, ultrasound, ECG, suction, pulse ox, Idexx lab equipment and an in house microbiology lab, plus additional large animal diagnostics and lab support.
