About the Role

Ayres Veterinary Hospital in North Shields, Tyne and Wear, is a modern purpose-built facility that opened in July 2024. You'll work full-time (40 hours per week, with flexible options available) managing a busy, varied first-opinion caseload in a supportive team environment. The hospital features advanced imaging including CT and 24-hour patient care with overnight vet and nurse provision, ensuring you'll have access to expert colleagues and the latest clinical tools.

If you're interested in integrating into the night service, the practice can accommodate that with time-off-in-lieu (TOIL) arrangements. You'll have access to Vet Oracle telemedicine specialists and the Advanced Clinical Services Network for case support and mentoring, helping you develop confidence across different case types.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a wide range of first-opinion surgical and medical cases with precision
• Carry out diagnostic investigations and clinical assessments
• Support and mentor colleagues, contributing to clinical standards and team development
• Collaborate with the overnight vet and nurse team as part of a 24-hour care model
• Engage with client care, creating positive and reassuring experiences that build trust
• Work alongside experienced vets and utilise expert advice from the Vet Oracle network

Requirements

• Qualified veterinary surgeon (MRCVS) with proven clinical experience
• Confidence managing surgical and medical cases independently
• Strong client care skills and ability to build positive relationships
• Team player with mentoring capability and natural leadership qualities
• Commitment to continuous professional development and gaining further clinical confidence
• Passionate about delivering outstanding animal care
