About the Role

This is a permanent full-time position at Harbour Veterinary Hospital in Portsmouth, part of the CVS Group's 6-site Harbour Vets network. You'll take the lead on surgical and medical cases, carrying out diagnostic investigations with precision. The role offers genuine clinical autonomy alongside mentoring from a collaborative team, making it ideal for vets looking to deepen expertise while supporting colleagues' development.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage surgical and medical cases across a varied small animal caseload
• Carry out diagnostic investigations with clinical precision and confidence
• Mentor and support nursing and veterinary colleagues to help them develop and thrive
• Contribute to shaping clinical standards across the practice
• Participate in monthly vet team meetings, clinical discussions, and whole-practice meetings
• Provide outstanding client care that builds trust and long-lasting relationships with pet owners

Requirements

• RCVS-registered Veterinary Surgeon with proven clinical autonomy
• Strong surgical and medical skills with the ability to manage a varied caseload independently
• Commitment to high clinical standards and continuous professional development
• Natural mentoring and team player who inspires colleagues
• Excellent client-facing skills and ability to create reassuring experiences
• Keen to develop further expertise and take on different case types

About the Practice

Harbour Vets is a 6-site small animal practice group part of CVS Group Plc. The team comprises passionate vets, nurses, PCAs, and receptionists who pride themselves on a friendly, collaborative environment. The practice hosts monthly vet team meetings, clinical discussions, in-house practical training, and whole-practice meetings to ensure high clinical standards.
