OOH Registered Veterinary Nurse

About the Role

This is a part-time OOH Registered Veterinary Nurse position based on site in Canterbury. The rota is weekend focused, with 1 in 4 Sunday day shifts and average hours of 2 to 3 per week.

You’ll be joining a first opinion small animal practice where the emphasis is on patient care, teamwork and clear communication. CVS describes the environment as friendly and collaborative, with support from vets, nurses, PCAs and receptionists.

The role sits within CVS Vets 24/7 Canterbury, where the practice says the facilities are there to help the team deliver care effectively.

Key Responsibilities

• Support patient care as part of the clinical team during OOH Sunday day shifts.
• Monitor patients and support their recovery in line with the nursing role described.
• Contribute to maintaining quality of care and good outcomes for patients.
• Help create a positive, welcoming and supportive team environment.
• Use clear written and verbal communication with colleagues, clients and pet owners.
• Take part in ongoing learning and development through CVS and the practice.

Requirements

• Registered Veterinary Nurse status is required.
• A passion for delivering exceptional care to patients and their owners is essential.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are expected.
• You should be comfortable working as part of a team in a first opinion small animal setting.
