This is a part-time opportunity for a Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon at Ashfield Vets, a recently relocated, purpose-built practice ideally positioned between historic Durham City and vibrant Newcastle. The role offers 30 hours per week across three working days with genuine flexibility to discuss alternative patterns. Crucially, there are no out-of-hours duties or on-call responsibilities, with Saturday work limited to one in four mornings (9:00am to 12:30pm), creating an excellent work-life balance.
You'll join a supportive team of two vets, four RVNs, a Practice Care Assistant, a Student Veterinary Nurse, reception staff, and a Practice Manager. The practice features three consultation rooms, a dedicated nurse and cat consultation room, separate cat and dog waiting areas, an in-house pharmacy, state-of-the-art prep room and theatre, plus onsite parking with an electric car charging point. The team runs proactive Schedule 3 clinics and specialises in geriatric and weight management, with a culture centred on teamwork, frequent case discussion, and a friendly, well-organised environment.
