About the Role
CVS Vets is seeking an experienced HR operations leader to establish and develop their HR Administration team based at head office in Diss, Norfolk. You will be responsible for delivering accurate, efficient and customer-focused HR services across the entire employee lifecycle, from onboarding through to leavers administration.
This is a permanent, full-time position working 40 hours per week. The role offers a clear leadership mandate: you'll own HR administration query management, oversee day-to-day operations, and drive service quality through KPI and SLA management, data accuracy and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the HR Administration team, coaching capability and fostering a culture of ownership and accountability
- Manage team capacity and workload priorities to consistently meet agreed service levels and SLAs
- Act as first point of escalation for HR administration queries, ensuring accurate, efficient resolution within SLA targets
- Oversee employee lifecycle administration including onboarding, contract generation and amendments, probation, leave and absence, flexible working requests, leavers, and Right to Work and visa compliance
- Monitor and report on KPIs, service levels and query volumes; identify trends and implement corrective actions
- Maintain compliance and audit readiness, ensuring HR records and processes meet GDPR, data protection and internal control standards
- Drive process improvement through standardisation, development of SOPs, templates and process maps, and support HR systems testing
Requirements
- Strong HR administration background with comprehensive understanding of the employee lifecycle
- Leadership experience in HR Shared Services, HR Operations or HR Administration, typically 3-5 years
- Proven people management skills with experience coaching and developing teams in large, fast-paced organisations
- Service delivery mindset with experience managing SLAs, KPIs and first-time resolution performance
- Strong HR operations knowledge including contracts, employee changes, leave processes and Right to Work and visa compliance
- Excellent data and compliance focus with comfort in maintaining accuracy and supporting audits
- Confident communicator able to build strong relationships with HR colleagues and business stakeholders
- Continuous improvement approach with ability to identify root causes and simplify processes
- CIPD Level 7 is highly desirable
