OOH Veterinary Surgeon

About the Role

This dedicated OOH and ECC Veterinary Surgeon role is based at MiNightVet Totnes, also known as Dart Vale, in the South Devon area of outstanding natural beauty. It is a Sunday-only rota, with shifts running 7:30am to 7:30pm on a 1 in 4 pattern, and the day and night teams overlap at 7pm to help create a smooth handover.

You will be working alongside a Sunday vet and nurse during the day shift, then with the OOH vet and nurse overnight. The role is described as a chance to enjoy the daytime lifestyle that Devon offers, while still being part of a dedicated emergency and out-of-hours service.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide dedicated OOH and ECC veterinary cover for Sunday shifts.
• Work with the Sunday vet and nurse during the day shift.
• Support the OOH vet and nurse during the night shift.
• Contribute to a smooth handover at the 7pm changeover.
• Use the practice’s modern facilities and specialist equipment as part of clinical casework.

Requirements

• An experienced Veterinary Surgeon.
• Comfort working in an OOH and ECC environment.

About the Practice

The role is with MiNightVet Totnes, part of CVS Veterinary Group. The practice is located in South Devon and is set up for OOH and ECC work, with a friendly team that includes an OOH Vet, OOH RVN and a Twilight Vet.
