Quality Officer

About the Role

This Quality Officer position sits within the Quality team at Axiom Veterinary Laboratory in Newton Abbot. The work is centred on maintaining and improving systems and processes, with a strong focus on accuracy, communication and continual improvement.

You will be working Monday to Friday, 9.00am to 5.00pm, for 40 hours per week. The role also involves travel across two sites at times, including visits for training and audits.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out ongoing checks of temperature controlled equipment.
• Support calibration and maintenance of temperature monitoring equipment.
• Take part in a robust audit schedule across the site, with occasional audits at a sister site and external audits where required.
• Help identify improvements to methods, systems and procedures.
• Complete investigations and use logical problem solving to put improvements in place.
• Maintain clear, accurate records and documentation.
• Act as a key point of contact to support information flow between colleagues, managers and other departments.
• Follow QMS policies, procedures and methods in line with EN ISO 17025:2017, including document review and updates.

• Strong organisation and accuracy in a fast paced environment.
• Proactive, detail focused and willing to take initiative.
• Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.
• Logical approach to problem solving.
• Able to manage multiple tasks while maintaining thorough documentation.
• Competent with Microsoft 365.
• Happy to travel between two sites when needed.
• Previous experience in quality is advantageous, but not required.

Axiom Veterinary Laboratory provides diagnostic testing to the veterinary profession and is accredited by UKAS to ISO/IEC 17025:2017. The Quality Officer will join its Quality Department and work alongside a small team focused on supporting quality across the business.
